MAC Hot Tahiti

As you know, I recently went over to Qatar and made a few cheeky MAC purchases on my way through the duty free. This is the second out of the three lipsticks that I purchased.

MAC Hot Tahiti - (£15.00) is one that immediately caught my eye after I had picked up Plumful. They are quite similar in colour, in fact all of the three I picked up are within the same colour family.

MAC describe Hot Tahiti as a 'soft reddish-coral' but I find it hard to see any sort of coral within the lipstick on me personally. I find this to be a bit more darker than Plumful with more of a reddish twist.

Their glaze formula is the most similar to their lustre formula in the way that it applies really easily, it's not fussy and you don't have to spend an age trying to fix it, it is moisturising and gives a really nice colour pay off. The main difference between the two formulas I would say is that this is more glossy than a lustre and lasts a little bit longer than Plumful although that could also be down to the colour itself. On my lips this lasted around three or four hours if I am not drinking or eating a lot.

It is a really easy colour to wear just like Plumful and adds just the right amount of colour to a makeup look without being overpowering and in your face. I think this would be a gorgeous pop of colour to an everyday makeup look or even a nice smoky look.

As with all of my MAC lipsticks, I am more than prepared to pay the price over drugstore lipsticks as the quality, colour range, pigmentation and staying power is better than any other I have.

Do we even have to mention the vanilla scent and the fact they do not leave a horrible taste in your mouth nor do they have an artificial taste to them which many drugstore lipsticks tend to have for me.

Have you tried Hot Tahiti? What are some of your favourites from MAC?

    1. Sorry for the late reply! I think what I love about this shade is it isn't too red like Ruby Woo or Russian Red - it isn't what I would call a 'Hollywood Red' it is really nice and muted and more purple.pink.rose then red :) You should definitely swatch it on your lips the next time you are in MAC! It may just surprise you xx
