MAC Plumful

Following on from my recent spending spree at MAC when I went through duty free I have my first ever MAC lipstick to show you. Does it count as my first ever if I bought three on the same day?
I bought a few bits and pieces but was supposed to go in for one specific lipstick, I came out with three. The one shade I was supposed to get was this gorgeous shade called Plumful (£15.00). MAC describe this shade as a 'blossoming rose-plum' which I would completely agree with, the colour is absolutely beautiful.

I have been subscribed to Estée from essiebutton.com for the longest time and as soon as I saw this beauty on her I knew it would be good and instantly fell in love with the colour. I did some research into the shade, looked at a few swatches, made a list, blah blah and decided this would be the first lipstick that I would buy to rekindle my love for MAC.

This colour is abso-positively gorgeous! I swatched it in store and couldn't get over how beautiful it was.

TIP: blue based or blue undertone lipsticks are great for giving the appearance of whiter teeth.

Anyone who knows anything about MAC will know how many different finishes of lipstick there are to choose from, Plumful is a lustre finish which applies really easily and Plumful in particular doesn't need a mirror to apply which I love as I can just put it in my handbag and use it when I am out and about.

The colour is sheer but buildable which allows you to control the amount of colour you would like to have on at any one time. I find the lustre finish moisturising and semi long lasting depending on how much you drink, eat or the condition of your lips - it lasts about two to three hours on mine.
I find they look different on everybody who wears them which is definitely a nice personal touch to a finished makeup look.

Here is what one swipe all over my lips looks like.

As you can see, it is not overpowering at all but is a beautiful pop of colour for the less daring. I definitely wanted to start my MAC lipstick collection with more Autumn/Winter colours and this is definitely a good starting point.

I was impressed with all three of the lipsticks I walked out with (other swatches to come).

I know they are a bit more pricey than other brands but I would definitely recommend the lipsticks for the high quality  formula and the amazing colour pay off you get from each individual lipstick.

What are your favourite MAC lipstick shades?
