Essie Angora Cardi & Barry M Gelly Pomegranate

These are the nail polishes I picked up during my Boots and Superdrug haul and thought I would share some swatches with you and give you a little review.

I seem to find that no matter how many times I try, I cannot refrain myself from purchasing new nail polish. Especially when it comes to Essie!

The nail polishes I picked up where part of my Boots & Superdrug Haul (click here) as they were having a deal on mostly ALL make-up brands and cosmetics and when I saw that Essie was included in the sale I could not resist I mean, maybe I could have tried a bit harder but apart from dragging myself down the aisle like something out or Paranormal Activity, I really couldn't bring myself to say no.

Essie Nail Polish in Angora Cardi & Naughty Nautical (£7.99)

The shades I got from Essie are Naughty Nautical (this shade is from their Summer Collection 2013) and Angora Cardi. Naughty Nautical is a blue-green (lighter than turquoise) shimmery colour and it does look really nice with a tan. Definitely a Summer colour to keep your eyes on and Angora Cardi is like a deep rusty rose/plum and it is so perfect for Autumn! This has to be one of my favourite polishes by Essie at the moment!

I haven't figured out how I am going to do future nail polish swatches but for now I am just using my plastic swatch wheel.

Both of these swatches are after 2 thin coats and they are both completely opaque and very easy to apply.
I find (on my nails) that Essie is long lasting and doesn't chip as easy as other nail polishes do.
I love all of the colours and I love the formula and it is definitely one of my favourite brands of nail polish.

Barry M Gelly in Pomegranate (£3.99)

The next nail polish I got was at Superdrug and after hearing so many people raving about Barry M Gelly Polish I decided that I would have to give it a try. Now they didn't have much shade choice in the store I went to but I was lucky enough to find the colour I wanted.

The Hi-Shine formula of these Gelly Polishes are supposed to give you a gel nail kind of look without actually having gel nail polish on (obviously).
The formula is thick and very opaque which means it also gives beautiful cover and fills in any ridges on the finger nails for a smooth, glossy finish.
For the £3.99 price tag you really cannot go wrong and there seem to be more and more shades to choose from!

The colour itself is a pink/red and definitely a keeper.

This swatch was just after ONE coat as that is all that was needed. No top coat, nothing.
I would definitely recommend this nail polish especially if you are fussy like me and (as bad as it is) cannot really be fussed with base coats and top coats all the time.

What are some of your favourite nail polishes?
