New in: NARSissist Cheek Kit

I know I have been missing for a few days here and there but I had a very unfortunate start to the week which left me unable to take photos and blog about things I had originally had planned for the week but the main thing is I am back now right in time to say hello to Monday, now I am not very fond of Monday but I am finding it hard not to be today when I get to share this beautiful product with you which is a sure way to brighten up every Monday, even mine lol!

Dun dun dun, No this isn't the eyeshadow palette which I am sure you are all aware of if you read the title haha! Don't get me wrong, I ordered the eyeshadow palette but was very disappointed with it and seeing as I am not a NARS connoisseur and have only recently delved into NARS products, I expected A LOT more from the eyeshadows themselves. I was expecting them to be highly pigmented and have amazing colour pay off when applied but I was mistaken and I was so upset as it is something I wanted to love but long story short I returned it and picked up this baby instead and I could not be happier especially coming into Spring, where I will find many a perfect excuse to wear this - realistically do I even need an excuse for this?

The NARSissist Cheek Kit was released on the 1st February and I spent many hours searching for it online as my closest NARS counter is Milton Keynes and they didn't have it. I eventually found it on SPACE.NK for pre-order and immediately hopped to it. It came a lot quicker than I had expected but hey I am not complaining! This kit is absolutely gorgeous even better when you do not own any of the colours within the kit.

The kit contains three of NARS's best-selling facial products in regards to blush, contouring and highlighting. I own none of these shades so this was a very welcomed edition to my baby collection!
  • Devotee - alabaster glow (limited edition). This highlighter is absolutely beautiful and has replaced my MAC Nylon as a highlighter and inner corner shadow.
  • Orgasm - peachy pink with gold shimmer. Perfect for the upcoming Spring and so easy to use this shade has such an amazing quality to it and would suit many skin tones, hair colours etc.
  • Laguna - diffused brown powder with gold shimmer. Laguna won the "Best Bronzer for Fair to Medium Skin" in 2013 InStyle's 'Best Beauty Buys'. It doesn't leave a 'muddy' look to the skin and is extremely easy to use - for reference I am the shade Gobi in NARS Sheer Glow Foundation so quite fair.

Every single one of these are so soft and buttery it is unbelievable, if seamless blending is something you look for in products then this will be your new best friend! I have never had such ease with face products and blending and found that because the products themselves were so finely milled and Orgasm is micronized they glided over my skins surface and created such a natural glow which is what we all want right? This kit ensures there are no clown cheek mishaps, especially when using a brush you are comfortable with.

I can't fault this cheek kit at all, everything is absolutely perfect for me. The pigmentation is not sacrificed at all which is what I found happened with the eyeshadow palette and the formula of the powders are second to none.

The two controversial debates I have seen surrounding this product are 1) the brush included in the kit; some people say it is quite a disappointment but I find it extremely soft and when i travelled with this palette I had no trouble whatsoever with the brush that came with it. I think it picks up the right amount of product and is not scratchy against the skin (I have very sensitive skin). The only adjustment I would make to this brush is making it a little denser other than that I think it is a handy tool.
2) being how many people complain when NARS brings out the same 2-3 shades whenever they release blush/face palette which is totally understandable and that is why I wanted to get my hands on the One Night Stand Palette. If you don't already have these shades and you have been wanting them then I would definitely recommend it but if you do have these shades then I would say the extras aren't needed, I am sure many NARS collectors have a numerous amount of Orgasm and Laguna but for the people just catching up now I think the kit is spot on.

The NARSissist Cheek Kit is still available to buy from SPACE.NK for £35.00 (link) which I think is a fairly good price when the full sized products from NARS range from £21.50 - £26.00 a piece which makes this a great way to experiment and try the product out before buying the full sized offering.

  1. I have never tried anything from Nars but this seems to be a nice cheek palette :)
Not sure I'd splurge on it though.

    1. I was in the same boat too but couldn't resist and even though £35 is quite expensive when there are a lot of cheaper and drugstore options but I was not disappointed and it is definitely one of my most favourite things at the moment :) thanks for reading!!
