NUXE Rêve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm

I figured that since I had been doing a lot of lipstick swatches lately it was about time for a lip loving TLC post.

This is definitely one of the most talked about lip balms that I have heard about and after watching one of essiebutton's older videos I thought it was about time I gave it a try to see what all the fuss was about, and oh the fuss there is.
The day I went to go order this it was actually £2 cheaper so I took that as an immediate sign that I was supposed to be ordering on that day (good justification right?). Now this lip balm is not the most expensive but it isn't the cheapest either, the formula of this lip balm can definitely be compared to higher brand lip balms and with that reason I would say it is a pretty decent price considering.

NUXE Rêve de Miel retails for £9.50 and can be purchased here (link).

The formula has been tested within some extreme weather conditions in Canada where researchers have found some of the amazing benefits that NUXE Rêve de Miel have to offer.

I do suffer from dry lips and always feel the need to moisturise them, if you watched my January favourites then you would have heard me talk about my addiction to having lip balm on me and how bad my day is if I don't have any lip balm with me - this is a serious matter in my life and definitely one I don't take lightly and I know that sounds silly because at the end of the day it is just lip balm right? WRONG!
Badly moisturised lips are THE worst or using cheap products that don't help your lips in any way are a serious sacrifice for such an important part of your body.

Luckily I find NUXE have found the perfect combination with this beauty! Enriched with honey and essential oils to help your lips, this lip balm does it all! (excluding the dishes, laundry and vacuuming).

Let's start with smell - INCREDIBLE! I have really been craving the more citrus/comforting scents and this definitely does it for me with some of the active ingredients being Grapefruit Essence, Honey, Plant Oils & Shea Butter. Does that not sound like heaven in a pot? Not only that but it is made with 79.5% of ingredients from natural origin as well as being formulated without parabens and being non comedogenic.

Packaging wise I love the frosted glass pot it comes in, it looks very expensive but simple at the same time, maybe not the most handbag friendly but it has been making a lovely edition to my bedside table!

The formula is luxuriously thick so I would say if a thick lip balm is not your thing then maybe this isn't up your street but if it is, JACKPOT! I cant fault the formula at all, it applies SO smoothly and doesn't leave a sticky layer. The lip balm is super moisturising and nourishing and after a long walk or those season changes that dry the lips it is definitely welcome!
BONUS = The lip balm dries to a more matte finish and therefore is GREAT under lipsticks for added smoothness or just more of a subtle colour look.

The only and I mean only thing I have a problem with is the dipping of fingers in pots and so makes it a bit of a hassle when out and about or on the go without means to constantly clean my hands. To combat this issue I usually leave this on my bedside table so I know I am using it with clean hands and fingers. NUXE do sell a lip moisturising stick (link) but it does have a different formulation.

Useful tricks and tips
  • Use this lip balm as a gentle exfoliator by mixing some brown sugar and some of the lip balm in the palm of your hand and apply lightly in circular motions. After exfoliating use a thick layer of lip balm for an intense repairing action
  • When applying, use all over your lips going over the edge to ensure the skin around your lips are receiving the same benefits.

All in all this lip balm would be a great addition to anybody's collection and has so many uses! I also use this around my really dry patches around my face, I know that sounds terrible but I am recently recovering from a horrible cold and this was the only thing that saved my poor sensitive nose from all the tissue abuse.

Have you tried any NUXE products? What is your favourite lip balm?
