The Best International Makeup Swap

Have you ever opened a package so beautiful and magical that you 1) either wanted to faint out of sheer joy OR 2) cry floods of tears out of sheer joy? If the answer is YES then you need to see this and if the answer is NO you still need to see this!

Back in March I met this wonderful lady named Frederica over on my Instagram who gave me serious USA makeup envy with all of her gorgeous photos on there and when she posted a picture of the LORAC Pro Palette well I almost died! Luckily for me (I thank all my lucky stars) Frederica reached out to me and offered to pick up a few things on her end of things I had been lusting over but couldn't get in the UK. Of course, I accepted (I don't know who would) but it was a wish come true.

Over the next few months Freddi and I exchanged emails almost on a daily basis and not only talked about makeup but life in general. Freddi has become a support system and a pillar of light for me and the generosity, genuine nature and kindness that Freddi shows to everyone is incredible and I really wish the  earth had more people like herself on it! Sometimes angels fly into your life for no reason and I didn't actually know how much I needed one until I found her. I know that sounds weird but there is nothing I wouldn't share with her and nothing I wouldn't trust her with, I only wish that someday we can meet and shop together and go for coffee and only be an sms or phone call away from each other!

We exchanged lists with each other and incorporated a few high end pieces and mainly drugstore pieces although Freddi only wanted one high end thing (A Dior Fluid Stick) which didn't turn out to be in the end and the money went to better use getting her two high end eyeshadow palettes from bareMinerals which I hope she loves as the colours were stunning when I swatched them in store! Myself being the makeup addict I am and browsing Sephora's website too many times than I care to admit could think of a list of 30 high end things I'd love but I would have definitely been more than a little poor lol!

The package was wrapped beautifully and everything bubble wrapped for safely but obviously I couldn't resist unpacking everything and having a good stare at it (this may have lasted a few hours). As you can see from the first picture, it was somewhat overwhelming for me to have such a big pile of makeup I had been eyeing up for awhile in front of me but it was beautifully overwhelming.

Anyways, let's get into the goodies...

The first item that needs to be mentioned is the LORAC Pro Palette, oh my. I cannot even begin to describe how long I have wanted this beauty. I do not own a lot of eyeshadow palettes (probably 3 or 4 not including this one) and this beats them all hands down! This was definitely the first item that was on my list and after some trouble, Freddi managed to track one down for me which I am extremely grateful for as it is just so bloody gorgeous!

The next two things are from Tarte (of course this would be on my list) and although some of these products were launched on the UK QVC - their prices were ridiculous £26.50 for a blush when it works out to £15.46 per blush over the pond. As much as I wanted to get my hands on these when they launched I couldn't justify £26.50 on one blush when there is such a huge price difference. The two colours I chose are Natural Beauty which is described as a 'muted Strawberry red' and Blissful which is described as a 'shimmering warm peach'. Freddi was lovely enough to go to the Sephora and swatch these for me as I was having trouble deciding over Tipsy and Blissful but in the end I decided to go for the one I would get the most use out of but no doubt Tipsy will end up in my collection as it is just too beautiful to pass up.

I got a few bits and bobs from NYX but the Jumbo Eye Pencil in this picture is in the shade Milk purely because I watch too much YouTube and see everyone using it as an eyeshadow base and I had the urge! I know we can get NYX in the UK but again it is slightly cheaper over there and readily available in stores too. I did get some more NYX items which will be below!

The EOS Lip Balms are again things I had wanted to try for the longest of time so I opted for the Sweet Mint and Lemon Drop flavours as they sound right up my alley and I am obsessed with lip balms, I can't be without them.

The next two pictured items are the Bath & Body Works mini candles in Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut and Pink Lemonade Pound Cake which Freddi kindly gave me out of her own stash as they were already out of store. This doesn't need to be explained but BATH & BODY WORKS! Come to the UK and I will pay for your store myself (not really) but the obsession is real, these candles smell incredible and burn so well. I am so jealous of all the beautiful scents year round especially now coming up to fall as I have seen a few pictures of the new flavours like Sea Salt & Maple Popcorn and Pumpkin Cupcake to name just a few.

YES! I am finally on the NYX butter gloss bandwagon and have started my collection off with the shades Peach Cobbler, Éclair and Strawberry Parfait which all look so perfect. I cannot wait to start using this and Freddi being the absolute babe that she is also slipped in a NYX butter lip balm in Parfait.

The next four things are items from Milani yet another brand we do not have in the UK and yet another brand I love the look of. Cheap and cheerful with great quality! Freddi went on the hunt for one of the blushes from the Coming Up Roses Collection in Tea Rose which is a beautiful vibrant baby pink as well as picking me up the Milani Blush in Luminoso which I am jumping out of my seat to try as I keep hearing so much about it! The next two Milani items in the box were goodies that Freddi slipped in too and they are the new Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadows in the shades Bella Champagne and Bella Cappucino which are definitely shades I would have picked if I had been selected for myself so thank you Freddi!

More Bath & Body Works mini candles and these are in the fragrance Blueberry Pumpkin Patch (this is why I am now craving the other Pumpkin offerings they have) and Lemon Verbena which both smell absolutely gorgeous! Freddi also slipped in the Bath & Body Work Signature Vanilla Body Lotion in Lemon Vanilla and it smells so good that my mum has already tried to steal it out of my box (NO MUM!) I cannot wait to put this all over myself after the shower and smell like a lemon drizzle cake!

I have also joined another bandwagon in the form of the Maybelline Colour Elixirs in the shades Captivating Carnation and Fuchsia Flourish which as we all know took the bloggin and YouTubing world by storm!

The last bits the Freddi got for me is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Sleek & Spice which I just want to put all over my face it is so beautiful! NYX Powder Blush in Taupe as I heard this is the perfect contour shade for fair skin and the perfect crease shade. Freddi kindly gave me her sample of Tarte's Pure Maracuja Oil to try as well as her Sephora Birthday present which consisted of mini Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments in Original and Rose (I honestly cannot wait to use these and already have my eye on the shade Tulip) so again thank you Freddi for being so generous and giving up some items that you had stores. The last of this pile has the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Cheek Gelee in Pink Escape which is a gorgeous cool tones but vibrant pink (cannot wait to start playing with this).

If all this wasn't enough (which is was, over and beyond) Freddi said that I could use her address to have an order shipped to it and she would kindly pop it in the same box for me and ship it over for me. So for the last bit of this international swap here are the separate goodies I ordered from Sephora!
The Hourglass Ambient Lightening Palette purely because of cost  as it costs the equivalent of £34.50 over there but £56 to order here so it was a no brainer and I am just in awe of how beautiful it is. I almost don't want to open anything I received because it is all just so gorgeous. I picked up another Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush but in the shade Doll Face as I have been looking for the perfect light pink blush as well as the Sephora Lustre Matte Long-Wear Lip Colour in Petal (I accidently picked up the wrong one as I wanted the Sephora Cream Lip Stain which I had heard so much about) which is a pretty baby pink colour and I think it will go perfect with Doll Face.

I used my 100 point perk to get a sample of the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer (checking out and selecting a point perk was so satisfying to me) and also got samples of the new Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner and sachet samples of Philosophy's Time in a Bottle, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream and a NARS Tinted Moisturiser.

I have come to the conclusion that if I lived in the USA my bank account would absolutely hate me! I have no clue how I would resist Sephora but I suppose it comes easier when you know you have one to access.

This is the best swap anyone could have ever asked for, especially me. When I opened this up I literally felt like I had been hit with a bolt of lightening and I am so warmed and grateful to Freddi for not only going to the effort of getting all this stuff for me but for being one of the most genuine and wonderful people I have had the pleasure of knowing.

That's it guys! I hope you enjoyed this extremely long post and stay tuned for all the reviews that will be coming up soon of all of these gorgeous products!
