Foodie Friday #3: Giraffe

Long time no Foodie Friday! I am back with another yummy review of one of my favourite restaurants I have stumbled upon...

If you have ever been to a Giraffe then you will know the atmosphere is very friendly, easy to be around and thoroughly enjoyable. All the bright colours, motto's and quirky flares Giraffe have added to their restaurants is spot on and makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed. Giraffe offer freshly cooked food and an extensive delicious menu!

The interior of Giraffe is very modern with hints of almost rustic furniture and decorations. I love the combinations of different interior designs and find it makes for a very playful and colourful environment. I love how restaurant present themselves just like with any kind of packaging to a product. Of course the product itself counts but the lead up to it also matters to me.

Any restaurant that uses teapigs is a on the right track in my book so when it is combined with my favourite food, you really do have a winner! You can often find me sipping on the teapigs Rooibos tea (my little taste of home).

Foodwise Giraffe has you covered. With a wide selection of meat, vegetarian and gluten free dishes (all clearly labelled, another bonus!) to suit everyone's tastes whether you feel like stir fry, pasta, steak, quesadillas, burritos, salad, burgers, sandwiches or something smaller like appetizers and sharing plates. They even have a great breakfast menu to choose from full or tasty sounding options and again meat, vegetarian, gluten free friendly as well as healthier options to choose from!

Above you will see the chosen dishes myself and my other half went for. The Falafel Deluxe Burger features red pepper, hummus, beetroot, rocket, halloumi, tzatziki, harissa and is my other half's obsession on the menu (he orders it all the time) along with the side of onion rings he loves. When I order from a restaurant I sometimes get just a starter or two smaller sides to make up a full meal as I often have a very small appetite so my favourite to order at the moment is the Edamame wok fried in soy, chilli and mirin with a side of Sweet Potato Fries (Giraffe's are amongst the best I've tried) served with chipotle aioli, Delicious!

The whole restaurant reminds me of Africa somehow and has a very earthy, wholesome vibe to it which although makes me homesick sometimes, it's also comforting to have somewhere that can give you that homely feel. I love sitting down at Giraffe and recommend it to everyone that hasn't had the pleasure of trying it.

Have you been to Giraffe? What do you order?
