Guest Post: NYX Xtreme Lip Cream - Miss Makeup Magpie

NYX 'Candyland' Xtreme Lip Cream

My name is Gemma and I blog over at Miss Makeup Magpie. I'm so excited to be guest posting here on Tasha's blog whilst she's sunning herself on holiday, as I love her blog and YouTube channel. I hope you enjoy reading about one of my favourite lip products right now....

I'm a massive fan of NYX's lip products.. I love all of their lipsticks, lip creams and lip glosses. They're all so affordable, but amazing quality with such an extensive shade range. The NYX Xtreme Lip Creams are described by NYX as velvety, rich lip creams that provide extreme pigmentation with a silky and glossy finish. They're labelled as a lipstick, lipgloss and lipstain hybrid and are available in 11 shades. I opted for Candyland as it looked like such a pretty pinky nude shade from the swatches I saw online and I already own and love the shade Nude Peach Fuzz. The Lip Cream is applied via a doe foot applicator which gives an incredibly opaque layer in just one swipe, and have a really creamy texture. They're quite similar in consistency to the OCC Lip Tars, but I find the OCC Lip Tars to be stickier than the NYX Xtreme Lip Cream, which is more creamy and smooth.

Once applied to the lips, the longevity is impressive with around four hours wear before touch-ups are necessary and it doesn't dry my lips out like a lot of long wearing lipsticks have the tendency to do. Candyland is such a pretty pink, but it's actually brighter than I expected it to be although I think it looks quite flattering against my pale skin. One of the reasons I love the NYX Lip Glosses so much is that they smell incredible, but the Xtreme Lip Creams don't smell particularly pleasant.. they remind me of playdough which isn't something I want on my lips for four hours at a time, but the comfort, longevity and creamy finish definitely outweigh the unpleasant scent and I love both of the Xtreme Lip Creams I own.

  1. Such a pretty shade, shame about the scent! I find the soft matte lip creams all smell lovely (like the mac lipstick kinda scent) so thats annoying that these dont smell the same!

    1. I love the look of the shade too! Hopefully the scent isn't too off putting as I am very partial to vanilla smelling products too! :)
