The Vegan Kind: October Box (#TVK12)

Being the serial snacker I am, I try to find healthier alternatives to the treats I would usually have whilst trying to cut back on the processed, refined foods and this month has been made easier for me thanks to the lovely team at The Vegan Kind...

For those of you who do know (or don't know) I have been changing my lifestyle and eating habits over the last year due to medical reasons and urge to lose weight plus be healthier and happier in my own body. Anyone who has gone on any diet or lifestyle switch around will know how hard it can be and when this process happened for me I completely cut out meat. Long story short, finding yummy snacks that satisfy my sweet tooth but are also healthy is very hard in my town and believe me, if I lived in London I would live at Whole Foods and the Good Life Eatery. So what has this got to do with a vegan box? Well, why fuss around trying to find healthier options and vegan alternatives when they can be delivered straight to your door? I am all over it.

Once subscribed to The Vegan Kind, they send you a box every month filled with 5-8 products from categories including food & drink, accessories, toiletries, cleaning products, household supplies, beauty products and an added recipe card every month all for the amazing price of £10 (+£3.15 p&p)*. You can cancel anytime and everything in the box is not only vegan but cruelty free!

When this box of deliciousness arrived on my doorstep I was over the moon and couldn't wait to dig into everything and I mean everything minus the beauty item as I am sure it wouldn't be as tasty as the treats.

Made using 100% natural ingredients, gluten, wheat, dairy and egg free. These cookies taste unbelievable. I am not much of a cookie lover unless they are freshly baked and warm but these may be the best boxed cookies I have ever tasted, yes I said it! They are so tasty and I am sure you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference between these and normal full fat cookies. The best thing? They are only 69 calories each - winning!

Free from additives and preservatives whilst being ethically sourced and made with locally sourced ingredients sounds like all sounds of goodness and as soon as I saw the bag I knew it would be right up my alley. Even my other half loved them and quickly polished off the rest of the bag. You can really taste how good the ingredients are and it is so different to anything I have experienced, obviously in a good way. I could definitely eating this in traditional India.

Uhm hello? I just had to read the packet and I was already mind drooling. These have my name written all over them and I feel as if I may need to buy a whole box and go into hibernation! These taste incredible and I am so glad I won 5 other packets through The Vegan Kind's Instagram as I was so upset when the bag was gone - yes my other half is partly to blame too but sharing is caring they say. Organic sunkissed raspberries and fair trade dark chocolate is a winning combination and definitely my favourite treat out of the box! Landgarten don't just stop at raspberries - pop onto their website and they have a huge variety of snacks... and chocolate!

I love Nom and have sampled a few of their bars here and there so whenever they pop up in boxes I am always happy. These nom bars are perfect for pre or post exercise and offer benefits from the cacao and coconut oil superfoods that it is made with. The bars are free from dairy, refined sugars and are Low GI as well as being downright tasty. If there is one pick me up snack everyone should have when on the go, it's a nom bar.

I love little beauty samples and this one is no different. This luxuriously rich and powerful moisturiser with antioxidants, anti-ageing vitamins A, C and K with Frankincense is an Award Winning product. The full size version is 15ml and retails for £51 so this more than generous deluxe product is worth the box three times over. On first impressions the moisturiser is beautiful, light and sinks in quickly. I have only been using it for a week and I can already notice a difference around my nose and chin. I can't wait to see the results until the end.

I am smitten with The Vegan Kind and would highly recommend the box even if you do not lead a Vegan lifestyle. I mean, who could really say no to a box of treats every month? The Vegan Kind also donate 10p from every box sold to their featured charity every month - this month it was the Manchester & Cheshire Dogs' Home, where of course you can also donate separately if you wish at www.dogshome.net. As well as the charity, TVK also include a recipe every month! This months recipe was an Ombre Vanilla Dream Cake made by the lovely 2014 PETA Great Vegan Bake Off Winner Little Miss Meat-Free!

  1. This looks like such a good idea, but I would eat the entire thing in one sitting which I guess defeats the objective!

    1. It was hard for me not to haha! Luckily I was able to make them last 3 days, but then again my other half eats through things like crazy! :P
