Bases: bareMinerals Complexion Rescue

Something I have been reaching for time and time again since it's launch is the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. It is one of those products that I didn't really think I needed as I prefer a full coverage look but once had it in my mitts wondered where on earth it had been and why had it taken so long to get to me.

Complexion Rescue (£26) comes in 10 great shades from pink, neutral and warm undertones. It is really easy to find a match whether you want an exact match or something a little bit warmer to make way for that Summer tan (unlike me who stays the same shade of pale all year round). I first got 02 Vanilla but found if I wanted to build it up it could look a little out of place on my fair skin so I went back and got 01 Opal which is an exact match and allows me to build up coverage whilst still giving me a a healthy glow.

Complexion Rescue is formulated with a never done before technology where the skincare benefits remain on the outside and the pigment on the inside rather than the usual alphabet cream structure of pigment on the outside with not many skincare benefits on the inside. This is a truly unique formula that allows your skin to reap all the benefits that CR has to offer from hydrating olive squalane, marine botanicals, electrolytes such as calcium, magnesium and potassium, antioxidant protection from the Heart-leaf globe daisy and an SPF of 30! What isn't there to love?

In the past I have tried many BB, CC and alphabet creams alike and none have really stood out for me or given me that WOW feeling or left me wanting more. The only one that has come close to that is the NARS Tinted Moisturiser which I do still like however the ingredients and feel of Complexion Rescue has far exceeded. Even though I tend to go for a fuller coverage look (or used to) this gives me exactly what my skin needs. It doesn't matter if I am having a good skin day which I primarily only use my alphabet creams for or if my skin is at its worst; Complexion Rescue delivers! It evens out my skin tone flawlessly, glides over any dry patches that may be lurking and decreases the look of any redness. The cooling sensation of Complexion Rescue is one that I enjoy experiencing every morning as it makes my skin feel very hydrated, plumped and refreshed. To be 100% honest, since CR launched I have used foundation maybe 4 times other than that nothing else but Complexion Rescue has graced my face.

I apply Complexion Rescue with the Smoothing Face Brush (£24) which with its dual fibre synthetic bristles allows me more control over coverage and a smoother application. It allows Complexion Rescue to seamlessly blend into the face and gives an almost airbrushed, diffused finish which I adore. If I am working, I then go in with bareSkin Perfecting Veil (£22) to set it as the finely milled powder adds to the airbrushed looks and sets Complexion Rescue in place for the whole day without hindering the beautiful glow and radiance that CR provides.

Below is a before and after, let's just get real here - it was really early, my skin has been breaking out the last few months and I am sure these are not the most flattering angles BUT at least you can see the difference it makes to my skin and when compared side to side, boy what a difference.
If hydration is what you are after I HIGHLY recommend trying Complexion Rescue or even just picking up a sample from your local counter. Your skin can benefit from up to 215% increase in hydration after just 1 week! Even if you aren't after hydration, try it as it is suited to all skin types and is OIL FREE, paraben free, synthetic fragrance free, hypo-allergenic and non-comedogenic!

Have you tried Complexion Rescue? What are your thoughts?

    1. It's my ultimate favourite tinted moisturiser and I've tried so many! It's great for everyday or even under a foundation at night time that way you get the radiant glow, the hydration and coverage of chosen foundation! Definitely need to try it :)

  2. I actually got a sample of this but it wasn't in my right shade match so I wasn't blown away. I really need to get matched properly & test it out again though because it looks amazing on you, like the coverage is really good but it still looks super natural x

    1. I'd completely go and get re matched for it especially if you like lighter bases :) I think it has fantastic coverage for how light it feels and if it can cover up the majority of redness on my breakouts then it's a winner :D I hope you enjoy it as much when you get the right shade! What shade did you get? Was it too light? X
