First Impressions: Urban Decay Eyeshadow & Naked Concealer

I thought I would share a little first impressions on two goodies that I recently picked up when I went to London. Two products I never thought I had wanted or had no intention of buying but here we are...

I popped into House of Fraser on Oxford Street as I had a gift card to use and decided to take a little stop at the Urban Decay counter.

I was looking for an eyeshadow called Space Cowboy which my friend uses along with her immense makeup skills and the sparkle in it always leaves me wanting it myself. I stumbled upon the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Shimmer in Roach (£14) after naturally gravitating towards the neutrals and browns, as you do and could not put it down. It was so soft and intensely pigmented and I knew immediately it had to be mine. I have used it a few times now and really haven't changed my mind - ever since buying it, it hasn't left my lids. The formula is beyond belief! It applies smoothly, evenly, blends beautifully and really packs a punch. The colour on the other hand is hard to describe but look out for my review and swatches coming soon as hopefully that will be of more help but it is really multidimensional and looks like a plummy brown in the pan but when applied and hits the lights can jump from a full on plum brown to a dark brown with hints of burgundy. It truly is gorgeous and luckily unlike anything I ever own. I also have to give a quick mention to the lasting power as this lasts ALL DAY!

Ever since purchasing the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, I haven't turned gone back to any of my old ones or been on the hunt for any new ones as I thought I had found my 'Holy Grail' concealer. Could I be wrong? I picked up the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer (£17.50) after admiring how pale it looked and seeing as London had melted most of my makeup away decided to do a quick touch up under the eye area and on a nasty spot that had reared it's head (no worries folks, I did this all hygienically of course). I was definitely impressed but couldn't really tell under the harsh lights but I justified the purchase as it was going on a gift card and was really intrigued. The shade I picked up is Fair Neutral which is absolutely perfect, I have always thought that my NARS Concealer was a tad too dark as I have it in Vanilla. Fair is very light but what I like is that it is neither too pink or too yellow. I've been using this for about a week or so now and what I can report back so far is that this is VERY comfortable under the eyes, it isn't drying, it DOESN'T crease even when you don't set it (I do have dry undereyes though), it brightens beautifully and once set it looks like skin - literally, no caking in sight! Again, I will report back with this as it works out to £4.50 cheaper than the NARS one but so far, loving!

Have you used either of these products? What are your thoughts?

  1. I love that concealer! I bought the wrong shade so need to pick up the right one soon! xx

    1. Oh no! Must definitely rectify that soon! I love it so much I want one in every colour haha! Xx
