The Vegan Kind Monthly Subscription Box: October

Halloween month full of treats, sweets and naughty temptations. I find it hard sticking to good food when it comes to sweet treats. I have a HUGE sweet tooth and my vegan boxes have really introduced me to some wonderful brands that I use daily to find healthier alternatives to the much loved sweets I am used to.

October's The Vegan Kind box* was as usual, filled with really lovely products to try. Once again I had seen a few people upload their pictures onto their instagram and already got myself all excited for mine to arrive so I could dig into the offerings.

This was the product that intrigued me the most as I always love trying healthier alternatives to crisps and although I love snapeas I wasn't sure how I would like them baked into sticks of chip like treats. I have to admit that the first few I had, I was on the fence about. I couldn't quite get to grasp of the flavour or texture but after getting past the initial taste I actually started to enjoy them. These are the lightly salted flavour although I feel a different flavour would be fantastic say a paprika flavour or a salt and vinegar flavour!

I am a sucker for anything involving caramel and Millionaires squares are always a good call. These however are gluten free and so although have that beautiful flavour of your traditional square (I feel these are actually better than most) do not feel overly heavy or full of sugar. Rice crisp pieces are covered by a layer of caramel and then topped with a dark Belgian chocolate and I don't know who could turn that down? There are five in a pack and there were none left after day two of them being in the house although I did have some help from my other half who insisted these wouldn't be as good as they were vegan - he ate four of them.

We have had Fitbites in a previous box and I really enjoyed them. I am becoming a huge fan of these superfood energy balls and find them the perfect on the go snack or a little something to tide me over.
High in antioxidants and containing important vitamins and minerals to keep you going throughout the day without having to feel too guilty about these lovely tasty superfood bites.

ORGANii Shower Gel (300ml - £5.95)
A new brand that is certified organic and only contains 100% pure, natural ingredients. These are so satisfying to look at - clean, minimal and colourful. This month subscribers could have received different scents including Argan, Liquorice, Strawberry or Aloe Vera and Bamboo. In my box I got Aloe Vera and Bamboo which has a really fresh scent but leaves my feeling really energised and comforted when used. I really enjoyed this brand and will definitely be keeping my eyes on them!

Almighty Foods Super Raw Botanical Mindful Mylk Chocolate Bar (24g - £2)
I have to say that this was one of the tastiest vegan chocolates I have tasted bar my favourite being Ombar's but this is beautiful and creamy. Made with creamy cashew, coconut, vanilla and Balinese cacao this bar is cold pressed and sweetened with coconut palm sugar and infused with beneficial botanicals. If you are looking for an amazing brand to try then definitely pop this on your list to try.

The Vegan Kind box costs £10* a month plus postage and packaging. It is completely worth it as they always go above and beyond when it comes to product selection and never skimp out on the quality. I cannot recommend TVK enough and think even if you aren't vegan you should definitely give them a try.

Included in this months box was a recipe from the lovely Laura over at www.thewholeingredient.com who shares her Lemon & Thyme Baba Ghanoush which I will definitely have to try as it sounds absolutely delicious.

The featured campaign this month goes to Austin's Hamster Haven who are a small rescue based in Doncaster that help rescue abused hamsters and small animals. Don't forget that 10p from every box sold goes to that months featured campaign so not only are you getting yummy snacks and treats you are also helping support smaller businesses.

What do you think? Have you tried The Vegan Kind?
